We're a Joburg-based NPC that will assist the rabbit (rescue) community with education, logistics, fundraising, and eventually setting up sanctuaries.

THIS IS A FIRST FOR ME In my six years of rescue THIS IS A FIRST FOR ME In my six years of rescue, I have not encountered a bunny like Parker. Along with @berariobunnies we rescued her from the Methodist Church in Parktown North. Some homeless people were throwing bricks at her, believing she was dinner. Her mate was already run over. I took her home for the night, put her in a playpen and left her to decompress with food, water, a blanket, and a hidey hole. Came back four hours later to find her petrified still, hunkering in the same corner. Food untouched. I climbed into the playpen, knowing full well any traumatised rabbit rescued off the street would freak out. Not Parker. She visibly relaxed. She started eating. She sidled up to me and lay down. I picked her up, cradled her on my lap and she fell asleep peacefully. She was more at peace with a human, than without a human. (Luckily for her this human was not going to eat her.) And that has been our routine for the last 24 hours. She eats, she runs around a bit, then jumps on my lap for a nap. Bliss. She was the Easter gift we always warned about. Bought from a pet shop, dumped two months later. To be run over, or stoned to death and braai’d. She is going to an awesome foster and will be up for adoption. But she’s pretty freaking special, so you better be pretty freaking special. High standards will apply. You can donate towards her care and steri. She's with an ARC volunteer and under vet care at @valleyfarmanimalhospital. Temp is low. Veins have collapsed. She's being treated for coccidia, amongst other things. "Spending some precious time with new kid on the block, Cadbury at our vets this morning. It’s Good Friday so opening hours are limited so it will be a quick visit but as I type this, our brave boy is enjoying the sunshine and green grass while exploring the courtyard. We are incredibly grateful to Dr Georgie and Dr Perushan for caring for him and although Cadbury is in a bad condition, the good news is that the extreme groin area swelling has come down a lot overnight so meds are kicking in 💪 Please send positive vibes and much love to Cadbury. Like all large buns, he’s got an incredible personality and would make a fantastic pet so do reach out if you’d consider adopting him please."
