Why rabbits make good pets

The Pros

They are intelligent and will make you laugh (and swear). Join the Facebook group ‘Bunnies are arseholes’ as proof.
They can learn their names and some words. They are really good at interpreting your tone of voice.
They are intuitive and will read your mood. When you are down, they might come for a snuggle.
They can be litterbox trained. (“Except for the two hooligans living at my house.” Reney.)
They are quiet. (They can also sneak out from under you.
A lot of people allergic to other pets, are not allergic to rabbits.
They are very hygienic and do not smell. Neither does their poop/pee.
They do not need huge amounts of space, but must NEVER be locked in a cage. They are very active and need to be able to run and play. I mean, how did you feel being locked up during hard lockdown?
Feeding them is affordable.

The Cons

They are high maintenance and thus not good starter pets.
Vet bills can be steep as they are exotic, and they do get sick.
They are not always crazy about being picked up and cuddled.
They chew cables, wood and fabric as their teeth never stop growing. There are simple remedies. See ‘How to bunny-proof your house’.
EVERYTHING HAPPENS ON THEIR TERMS.
